A Week Of Growth

So much happened this past week; it was lovely.

The theme at Camp JIM was "Extreme Renovation" and boy did God renovate ME! I kinda didn't expect that. I was all like, "Yay, I'll work at camp for the first time and help kids!" Ha, I was the one who was helped too:)
I met so many wonderful people, reunited with others, and grew in my faith so much! It was an amazing summer; it seemed to go by in a whirlwind of excitement, hard times to work through, and fantastic Christian fellowship and so many new friendships:)
I got home and was just tired. Emotionally, spiritually, and physically! But I had FUN. Even through the problems and troubling things, the other counselors and staff were so encouraging:) God taught me SO much and I hope I was able to help others as well!
I'm thanking God for all the people working at camp and praying for them all!

Allison had tons of fun with my camera and took this picture as well as quite a few other ones that I love;)

I am praying that I'll be able to work next year, too! :D
Later y'all, I'm going to sleep!

Bloglovin' [About, Etc.]

Whelp, it looks like this is actually happening. Google Friend Connect (aka "Followers") is shutting down soon  and this is a recommendation and/or  reminder for y'all! If you want to keep following my blog then you can use Bloglovin' :)
(Edit: The widget is still here and technically you can still "follow", however you will not receive any feed updates due to the fact that google reader has officially shut down. So in a way it is sort of like a dead link.)
That's right, new horizons. Change is inevitable, but sometimes for the better:)
I have been using it for the last month or so, and I really like it. I love to read blogs and all, but sometimes it's overwhelming for me to try to keep up with all the posts and remember which ones I read, etc.
Bloglovin' is helpful and useful and really quite simple to use. If you want a full tutorial and explanation about this, then here is an excellent link to see:  http://nutritionella.com/2012/12/my-new-favorite-reader-a-bloglovin-tutorial/

Keep looking up! (And look me up on bloglovin! Here ya go: http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/5621471/f-a-picture-bg )

And a very good evening to you, ladies and gentlemen!

Portraits and A Door

Told you I'd post soon:) These are from the good ol' days of 2012! Fall is the best time for portraits isn't it? The photos below are some of my favorites!

Little brother and sister were kind enough to let my order them around for a while. Ha, who am I kidding, I tell them what to do anyways:) No seriously, they were excellent posers for me!

The colors complement each other and add a lot to the composition, I had to use a fast shutter speed 'cause she was swinging pretty fast:)

This is at Itasca State Park. There are beautiful spots for pictures everywhere! J has his favorite Webkinz: Bucky:)

"Study Buddies"

I tried to line the trees up so it would go together seamlessly and look poetic:)
("Poetic" looks like "pathetic" out of the corner of my eye, haha)

I really like this last one, which I have done something rare to: I named it!
Wait! This post is named "Portraits and A Door." So, where's the door, huh? This is for FMTSO! Yay! Oh right, here it is!
I really like this door, saw it while Geo-Caching with my grandparents last summer. It is old and cool and dilapidated (whoo I spelled it right!) and mossy!
That be - ith all for now ye kindred spirits!
PS: I updated this and added a few more photos I forgot.

In Other News: "I'm Back!" (And Christmas!!)

Hey y'all!
My lack of posts is glaring me in the face, but be assured this is not for lack of suitable pictures! The only logical solution for this photographer to pursue would be to post more photographs!
Yep, I was just doing my English homework... Anyways, I think the problem has been that I have too many photos; they have been sitting in folders on my pc for a month (and I keep taking more!) so I will have several "Themed" posts coming up...
This should be interesting! Today's post is: C H R I S T M A S !

We just put up our tree and I LOVE it! It's real so it has that beautiful pine-y, woods-y, snowy smell; and it looks gorgeous! Don't believe me? Here's the photos!

Decorating the tree! With the colored lights blurring and the interesting shadows (I accidentally set the aperture at like f/5 so this is a lot darker than I would have liked) this pic does look neat.
This looks blurry for some reason, even though its not *shrug* It is very noisy, I know!

As everyone must have seen somewhere before: Christmas lights pictures!
I really like the bokeh on this one; it's the Christmas tree lights! These two are my favorites of the post! The colors are Christmas-y and bright, without being obnoxious-ly neon and blinding:)

I know, I'm using a lot a dashes today...

When we lived in Tennessee, we got some "Tennessee Volunteers"
Christmas  ornaments.

Almost done...

I'll leave you with this lovely bokeh. And that, my dear followers, is the end of this post.

Wooo! Can't wait till Christmas!

Angles: Guitar and Water Drops!

A fellow photo blogger Nette Requena just started a "Go Mono" photo project and I decided to go along with it too! Her post: http://netterequena.com/2012/08/20/1860/
Her first day is "Angles" and I took this picture of my sister's guitar today, and it will be my first project pic!
The story for this picture is very typical of me:) I was running through my room and glanced at my dresser (the guitar leans up against it) and the setting sun coming through the window bounced of the dresser onto the guitar in such a perfect way I had to grab my D5100!
I have found: Luck is a photographer's best friend, but precision is his greatest asset:)

A different take on the guitar; the lighting is totally natural and SOOC (Straight Out Of the Camera)!

Feeling bored a few days ago, I decided to get my camera and take some shots of this huge crabapple tree in my backyard. Made it more interesting by spraying it with the hose! I had to dodge the water drips while taking these:)
Man-made raindrop on leaf.

I'm tired, g'night!
That's all Flashed for now folks!
